I cook a lot; it is my obsession. Thus, I am always experimenting – trying to make recipes better or trying to recreate excellent food I have eaten in restaurants. Here is a selection of those I feel are worthy of doing again. Are they perfect? Probably not. I am constantly tweeking my recipes – never truly satisfied. But hey, that is the joy of puttering around the kitchen. And when you come to my house, that is usually where I am. That or on the porch watching an amazing sunset.
Travel-friendly Egg Sandwich – a yummy, quick and cheap alternative to the coffee shop quick fix. Never pay retail again!
Turkey Tettrazini – a quick, tasty casserole that uses up all those thanksgiving leftovers. Feeds a hungry crowd cheaply too!
Tortilla Soup – a warming, light, broth-based soup that has just the right amount of zing. Also, the tortilla strips are addictive.
My $17 Grilled Cheese Sandwich – My yummy rendition of one I ate at The Spotted Pig in NYC.
Green Bean Casserole Redux is a tasty redo of the classic Thanksgiving Green Bean Casserole. Mine has shitake mushrooms, crispy fried shallots, and a homemade cream sauce. Try it, you’ll be glad you did.
